Day to day chartering, marketing and employment of vessels within the geographic area.
Contract of Affreightment (CoA) administration (nominations and execution).
Staying fully updated on market activities, trends and fixtures reported within the geographic area.
Stay updated on competitors’ activities, fixtures and CoAs within the geographic area.
Ensure and promote cross-selling.
Exercise close communication and cooperation with Ship Operators.
Active and timely use of all relevant ERP applications.

Safe and cost-efficient ship operation for vessels allocated.
Monitor operational performance, voyage results, vetting status and ship agent performance and take initiative to improve vessel performance and ensure best practices.
Keep focus on customers.
Obtain knowledge of ship capabilities.
Ensure safe and optimal stowage.
Engage in trade knowledge.
Be hands-on and actively follow-up vessels activities.
Obtain charter party and clause knowledge.
Exercise close communication and cooperation with ship brokers.

Assisting both Charterers and Owners to achieve the best voyage possible i.e. being in line with the Charter Party and its terms and conditions – with an objective view and through embracing diplomatic skills. The hugely diverse range of cargoes, each with its own individual carriage requirements, requires a wide knowledge of each and every product and vessel type.

The job as a ship operator overall aim is to ensure the best possible result on all voyages, meeting the requirements of the customer at the lowest possible costs and best possible income – in a manner which is safe for the vessel, its crew, the cargo and the environment.

Introduction to, inter alia, chartering, charter parties, ship operations of chemical tankers, demurrage and a general way of thinking in a professional shipping office.

Worked in the department of fund administration, and was responsible for registering securities, keeping portfolio changes up to date and general customer service. A unique opportunity to get an introduction to the finance sector and asset management.

Worked part-time, and during summers full-time. Responsibilities were to nurse, care and keep seniors in activity. Learnt about how to keep a schedule and the importance of quality in my own work.

Started off as floor assistance. At 18 I became a cashier and shortly after I did the necessary courses to become a lock-up manager – responsible for the store in the evenings, taking the settlements of account and closing.
